The weeks go by!

So this is the night before weigh in and I have a sneaky feeling that I haven't lost anything this week.

I recently challenged a very bad habit I had developed. I was eating leftovers and assuming the role of the food waste bin in my house. Well if you eat something that should have gone in the bin you are going to feel rubbish.

Its not a nice feeling when you go into weigh in thinking I didn't have a terrible week but it wasn't very good either. That moment when you step on the scales and think "agh!! another week where I had no excuse not to lose has gone to waste."

Fingers crossed I'll lose even a half pound this week. I promise I'll make it happen tomorrow week if tomorrow is not my day!!

If you're reading this I want you to go out and make this week a week with a weight loss!!

Those Pretty Eyes...

Image result for eyes

Well hello again!
I'm back!! I have two stone to lose once more after spending the last ten months or so struggling, hanging in there and going to the weight watcher's meetings.
Romance hasn't blossomed for me yet and my career is on a go slow too. I have ideas and I am putting plans together to change career so that is half the battle.
I lost a stone in 2014 and gained half it back again but at least I'm feeling motivated now. Before Easter I built up my fitness gradually and now I hope to see big changes after starting gym classes last week :)
The struggle continues...
Its hard to spend all winter hauling yourself into the swimming pool, not buying that bar of chocolate when you visit the petrol station and making a dozen efforts every single week to lose weight. We all know where it goes wrong from week to week but it makes us question why we even bother trying.

Tonight I was looking for an outfit to wear to the gym tomorrow. I can't say I was overjoyed by the experience.

I call my overweight problem Agnes simply because I don't like the name and I don't want Agnes to be seen out and about with me anymore.

While gazing into the mirror at Agnes' belly when I was trying on tops to wear to the gym, I caught a glimpse of my own pretty eyes twinkling back at me. They were twinkling beautifully but they looked sad. I'm sad too. I'm sad that they don't get shown off more. I'm sad that what I think I will look like in that outfit isn't what I actually look like. I'm sad that the mirror in the gym last week put me in a bad mood when I had been so proud that I had returned to the gym.

So I promise to show off me and my eyes in a happy, confident and secure manner; even if I have to pretend to be that way in the beginning. Eventually I'll take complete pride in my appearance. Those pretty eyes will not be overshadowed by sadness any more. My real figure will match the healthy curvy figure I have in my mind. For the sake of having a healthy body to put with those pretty eyes in the mirror I will keep trying.

So pee off Agnes!! I've had enough of you!

A stone lost :)

Well here I am. We are nearing the end of June and I have lost.... wait for it.... a stone since January :) I am very proud of this. It was mid-May when I lost the stone and its been up and down since with a lot of fun along the way!

Boom! I've hit the plateau! I have another stone and a half to lose but its not looking easy. This is familiar terriitory for me but i will get around it this time. One minute i'm giving it my best and the next minute i go as laxed as ever! :o

Nothing worth having comes easy xx ;)

Keep on truckin'!

ELEVEN pounds down since January! happy days :) My friend sent me this pic on whatsapp after my weigh in and I was just bursting with pride!

I even went on holiday to Prague and put up 2 and a 1/2 pounds only to have it lost again the following week (Easter!!) along with an extra half pound.

I've realised that this healthy lifestyle is my routine now and theres no logical excuse for going back to the old ways! I really look forward to my planned treats and my mini milestones! (more about those in my next post!) They keep me sane!

Then your bubble can burst very quickly! On Friday, I was told by a child at work that i had a big fat tummy! :( Good observation akills shown by the young boy but believe me, I am working on getting that tummy into proportion with the rest of me!

Here are some of the week's obstacles:

Getting a free box of sweets for spending over €75 on groceries!
An unexpected invitation to lunch at a friend's house

Lets keep this show on the road! ;)

Finished studies!

Well the good news is that I am finished my studies in Childcare for the foreseeable! My hours at work have gone back to normal and I am now an expert at budgeting in anticipation of a major reduction in my wages which never happened!! I'm getting my hair done tomorrow at a hairdressing college to save €€€! Things are settling down on the workfront so we may put the career/ job change on the long finger for now ;) Besides, I love working with the kiddies, never a dull moment!

Weight aggghh!!! right i did everything right last week (i think!) and gained a pound. Those weeks would wreck your head! I made five small changes this week to see if i can have a loss on Thursday!

I think I can't drink enough water to help me lose weight! I demand eight hours sleep a night this week also. I just won't lose a thing unless i'm well rested.

If only a prince would wake me up!!! ;)

I'm going to do the Darkness into Light walk for Pieta House on May 10th this year. I'm afraid it will take me a long time so i have measured a 5km walk from my house so I can get some practice in!

Enjoy the long evenings and stretch those legs!

More than a Moment of Weakness

I went to my weight watchers meeting this evening: up a pound and a half!!! I'd be the first to tell you that this is a fair result of this week that shall forever be known as my week of weakness! I indulged and I did things that I knew I shouldn't have done. They gave me very little satisfaction and I did them anyway. That packet of ginger nuts, numerous jaffa cakes, a cupcake here (worth it!), a slice of apple cake there! The past catches up with us sooner or later.
Now in fairness I braved the meeting and I am putting this week behind me and moving on; focusing on that holiday coming up in April.
Time to learn from the mistakes and come out on top... Happy Struggling!

My Little Angel

So the struggle continues.... Today I went for a walk. I had an unsatiable appetite which i attributed to my antibiotics for an ear and sinus infection. The diet and will power ran away in the evening but promised to come back first thing tomorrow!

I completed some course work for my last module in my childcare FETAC level 6 course. I'm nearly finished the last of the training I currently intend on doing in childcare. I am relieved that I've come this far, even though I'm not sure what direction I'll take next.

The important thing is that I am here. Less than eighteen months ago, I lost a little friend. She was two years old when she was killed in a car crash. It was a traumatic time for all of us that knew her and upsetting for many people who didn't know her. I often wonder what she would have done in her first twenty five or thirty years of life. Maybe everything would have worked out fantastically for her or maybe she would have gone off the rails along the way. Maybe we would have had a lot of things in common. Either way, her life came to a premature end and I am now lucky enough to have a little angel watching out for me in heaven. I will always strive to do better and make the most of the opportunities that she never had.
